
SABLAYAN OFFICIAL’S INAUGURATION
Presiding Judge Hon. Jeicqpoi N. Politico of the Municipal Trial Court of Sablayan officiated the oath-taking ceremony for the newly elected officials Officials of Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro on June 24, 2022 at Sablayan Covention Center, Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro.
Those sworn into office are Mayor Bong B. Marquez, Vice-Mayor Edwin N. Mintu, Councilors Clarinda Alvarez-Lorenzo, Alfredo C. Ventura, Jr., Marffin B. Dulay, Manuel P. Tadeo, Conchita H. Dimaculangan, Mark Anthony O. Legaspi, Nancy Landicho, and Roberto C. Lim.
Gov. Eduardo B. Gadiano, Vice-Governor Aniceta Diana C. Apigo-Tayag, Congressman-Elect Leody F. Tarriela and Engr. Markus Lacanilao, BBM-Sara Campaign Manager also graced the occasion.
In his speech, Presiding Judge Politico reminded the town officials to abide by the general dictum that “public office is a public trust”. He reminded them of the duties and obligations of elected officials as stipulated in the Local Government Code. On the other hand, In-Coming Mayor Marquez stressed the town’s potential in agriculture and tourism. He explained that said twin economic drivers were never fully discovered and prospected to their full potential to be at par with other LGUs for the benefit of the people. He also said that his administration will give more weight to basic social services for the vulnerable and marginalized sectors of society, such as senior citizens, than infrastructures and other related projects such as engineering interventions.
The speech of Vice-Mayor Mintu and the rest of the legislators centered on understanding that candidate competition should end with the election results to meld individual opinions to achieve group objectives.
Both Marquez and Mintu came from the same local political group known as Team Ganado and were equally political allies of Gadiano.
